Activated Carbon Water Purifier

Activated Carbon is a form of carbon  that is divided into small pieces. Usually activated carbon is made from charcoal. Activated Carbon removes most water borne diseases that cause pesticides and heavy metals. Activated Carbon is effective at removing chlorine from water.

Advantages of Activated Carbon

  • Removes diseases causing pesticides and toxic chemicals like Chlorine.

  • Removes heavy metal particles

  • Makes water smells and tastes good.

  • Activated carbon helps to improve RO membrane life by blocking chlorine and other particles which are damaging the RO membrane.

Disadvantages of Activated Carbon

  • Activated Carbon does not remove dissolved salts which causing hardness of water.

  • Does not removes bacteria and viruses. The worst thing is improper maintenance causing higher growth of bacteria on the Activated Carbon surface. In case, activated carbon water purifier not in use for a long time, microorganisms like bacteria and viruses starts growing on the activated carbon surface.

GRAVITY FED WATER PURIFIERS

A Gravity Water Filter is machinery that allows you to filter polluted or contaminated water with the help of gravity. It sounds too broad.

This device is composed of two chambers, the upper chamber, and the lower chamber. The upper chamber is where you pour in your contaminated water, and the lower chamber will then be the finish line where your contaminated water is now turned into filtered water.

The Gravity Water Filter is convenient, and it does not require plumbing or electricity to function.

Traditional Countertop Distillation

Distillation, on the other hand, is the process of boiling water, capturing the condensation, and allowing it to condense back into water. After the water is distilled, impurities will be separated. Distillation is different from the process many municipalities recommend for purifying your water. Simply boiling the water will kill bacteria and microbes in it but it will not remove chemicals and other impurities like heavy metals.

Advantages of traditional countertop distillation:

  • Distillation is the single most effective water treatment method.! A well-designed distiller will remove 99.9% of contaminants. Distillation is the only process that boils the water, which means that distillation kills bacteria, viruses and other biological contaminants!!

Disadvantages of traditional countertop distillation:

  • Traditional distillation has some disadvantages. As a process it is  slow, cumbersome, and can be inaccessible as a method of home water purification except in emergencies.
